The Fishient Group Family
Our story
Cliff Rochester was born into a fishing family and spent every opportunity he had on the water. It served him well — he was awarded his South African colours for Artlure Angling.
The journey into flyfishing started when Cliff began working for The Flyfisherman, the prominent flyfishing store of its day, learning from the legendary likes of Tom Sutcliffe, Hugh Huntley and Rodger Bart.
His passion for fly tying grew. From humble beginnings he began tying on a small commercial level, earning a reputation for quality and reliability. Together with his wife Tarryn, the company evolved to include a unique range of synthetic materials and a signature range of tying products.
Since 1997, The Fishient Group has supplied tastefully tied flies and fish fooling fly tying materials to over 40 countries.
The team
A fly is only as good as the hands that tied it. A blend, the hands that mixed it. A brush, the hands that spun it.
Everything that leaves our door passes through a team of skilled tiers, blenders and packers — people who have been doing this long enough to know, by feel, when a batch is perfect.
Cliff and Tarryn built the company. The team built the reputation.
